iPhone 8 stuck between off and white on screen

My iPhone 8 mysteriously turned off this evening, and when I tried to turn it back on, it flashed to the white screen that comes on when you turn your phone on, but then turned off again. It has continued to go between off and the white on screen for the past two hours. I've tried everything including a hard restart, and nothing is helping. Any help is appreciated!
