Only Pages v10.1 will support opening iBooks Author documents. If the document has content that Pages does not know how to import, it may reject opening the .iba document. What is the creation date of the iBooks Author document, and has it traveled to other non-Apple filesystems, or operating systems that may have damaged it?

I've tried all of these options below - none will work.

You have several options for opening your iBooks Author file, which has the .iba filename extension:

  • In Pages, choose File > Open, select the iBooks Author file, then click Open.
  • Select the iBooks Author file in the Finder, then choose File > Open With > Pages.
  • Drag the iBooks Author file onto the Pages app icon.

I just upgrade to the latest 10.15.6 and that still didn't work.
