I did the backup but my photos are not back

I got a new phone, everything transferred to this one, but my photos are not back. Yes I did the backup

Are/Were you using iCloud for photos? If YES then the photos are not in the backup. They are on iCloud. Turn ON Photos under iCloud on your new iPhone and they should begin synching with your iPhone.
