“Other” Storage

Hi! For the past few days my phone has not been letting me do anything and it has been very slow. Of my 64GB of storage, 35GB are being taken up by the “other” category, leaving me with no storage left. I have tried everything google has said for me to do in order to reduce the amount of space it’s taking up. I deleted old apps, tons of photos and videos, cleared search history, etc. but no matter what I do it will not go down. Why is it taking up so much storage and why will it not go away?
