Anyway to have the Microsoft Office products on my Mac without paying an annual fee?

I have Microsoft Office: mac 2011 installed on my mac, but now when I try to open any of the apps (Word, Excel, etc) it wants me to upgrade to Microsoft 365 for an annual fee and I can't use the apps unless I do so. Is this due to the 32 to 64 bit upgrade? Anyway for me to have the Microsoft Office products on my Mac without paying an annual fee?

You're right about the 32 vs. 64-bit thing. Microsoft Office 2011 is 32-bit, so it won't work on macOS Catalina.

Instead of Microsoft 365, which is a subscription, you can buy Office 2019 as a one-off purchase from the Microsoft website.
