Can I upgrade the memory of my MacBook 13”

There isn't any such thing as a 2004 MacBook.

The RAM is upgradable on 2006-2010 MacBooks, but only the mid-2010 units can hold 16GB.

The RAM isn't upgradable on 2015-2019 MacBooks.

The RAM is upgradable on 2006-2012 MacBook Pros, but only mid-2010 or newer units can hold 16GB.

The RAM isn't upgradable on MacBook Pros with a Retina display, or any MacBook Air.
