iPhone 6s storage is full...

I’ve deleted several apps that I haven’t used in awhile and deleted thousands of pics but still have yet to free up enough storage on my iPhone. Any suggestions as to what else I can do to free up storage space would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Listenerman

What is taking up all your storage space?

How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

About storage on your device and in iCloud - Apple Support

if you see a large 'other' category, you should try to update your phone

Clear Other storage on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you need more space for an update - Apple Support

Or you can also try offloading some of your larger apps

Hey there! Hope these two storage articles can help!:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203097

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211686

If not then they’re maybe a technical reason the storage will not respond, if so, I may try a force restart and try again:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201412

Otherwise, if the storage is accurate, but there’s not enough to support all the content on it, these articles may help:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205703

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201656#recommendations

Hope all goes well, otherwise if you needed to, you could backup and restore your phone from a backup, or as new:

Backup:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203977

Restore to factory settings:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252

Restore from your backup:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184

on a side note, every once in a while, when having an issue, erasing and restoring the same backup may bring the issue back, unless it is an issue with the operating system, (iOS), that’s usually not a problem. Otherwise, setting it up as new, and restoring the data by signing into your accounts and re downloading your data, and setting up your preferences would need to be done.

I know that’s a lot to take in, hopefully, and most likely the first few steps will fix your issue, hope that’s the case! If need be you can always call Apple Support though, they can also help!

Off topic.. friendly advice..

it could help the readability of your post if you used the link function at the bottom of the reply window..

  1. type some explanation text prior to your link, press enter
  2. go to the other tab/page you want to point the OP to and copy the url from the address bar
  3. back here in the reply window click the little chain link icon at the bottom
  4. paste the url into the box that appears when you clicked the chain link
  5. now the chain link has moved to the left side of the field.. click it again.. give it a second to populate
  6. now your link automatically shows the title of the page 👌

sometimes it's buggy and doesn't show, but for me.. works 99% of the time. Also note that this only works with Apple support stuff.

I didn't figure this out until I was level 2/3 and I basically had to figure it out myself. So hopefully this is helpful to you!

Hey Chris0107! I appreciate the feedback! Without disrupting this post any further with this subject, that’s good to know. I’ve been an Apple user and troubleshooter for many years, literally joined about a month ago when I saw a close friend posted a question, and find it awesome! Anyhow when I have time, I usually use my iOS device to check emails and visit this site, not my Mac, Unfortunately I don’t see the chain link option, (Unless I’m looking too closely to see it! 🙂) Either that, or it’s an option for browsers on computers, appreciate it though, if it’s here, I’ll find it at some point, I was wondering about that too! @Listenerman, hope those answers help out! Let us know otherwise, happy to help out!
