I accidentally deleted the wifi as an interface from the network settings in an attempt to get my wifi service to be working. But now I cannot add it back. Could you please let me know how to configure this ASAP?? Without internet my MacBook is useless. I am a university student so I need internet to finish my assignments and research papers.

Another 'wired adapter' would be used, when wi-fi does not function.
Depending on the MacBook/Air version, adapters from port to option
may be found and used to complete this idea. ~ Maybe via Ethernet?
(USB-C adapter, or Hub; to Ethernet? Depends on what they've got.)

Recovery in most instances to restore system requires internet;
or could be achieved with local backups: Time Machine + Clone.
Also saw the discrepancy of the first reply, to this scenario, too.
Nearly a month late. Wonder if suitable 'work-around' was found?

You can use internet recovery and reinstall the OS without erasing your drive.
Just press the "+" button and add the WiFi Interface back. Re-installing the macOS is not required.
if this is to be done, MacBook needs to be connected to internet to perform this?
