Water Damage?

my XR was splashed with water when it was too close to the pool. I wiped it off within a few minutes. It's not operating correctly and Apple says the internal indicator shows water damage in the less than one year old phone. How can this be? I'd like to fight this. What do I need to do?

iPhone XR, iOS 13

Hi,

"Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty, but you might have rights under consumer low".

I think you can check if you have any right under the country where you have bought your device...
