Edit text in a document using Apple Pencil and iPad Pro

Is there any way to edit text in a document using the Pencil? I’d love to open a text document created in a word processor, and write directly into it instead of typing. I have iPad Pro and newest pencil

iPadOS 14, which is expected this fall, will introduce Scribble to iPad with Apple Pencil, allowing users to convert automatically handwriting to typed text:
