According to the links in Apple shop pages, the official Apple online store or

retail location gives credit for trades against the prices. ~ And some locations

across global regions, have only authorized resellers; not official Apple stores.

So because that is nebulous and vague outside those regions; and your point

of reference is not detailed, that's about all I can suggest.

Independent resellers who have their own inventories and do not participate

in official Apple strategies may not give a buyer of other sourced product an

equal standing; on a trade, they can offer whatever they want.
