HomePod messages after iOS 14 update

Having an issue where the HomePods will no longer read new text messages after iPhone is updated to iOS 14. Appreciate it might be because the HomePods are still on iOS 13 but is anyone else experiencing this? I have several HomePods and none will read messages. No error, light just goes off if I ask them to read my messages.

HomePod, 13

EDIT: Ok I may have found a fix. Seems to

be working for me. I’ve gone in to Settings on my phone, then Notifications, then Messages, then clicked Show Previews and set that to Always. I used to have it set to require Face ID to unlock before Siri would read on the phone. Pre-iOS 14 the HomePod overwrote that and just read my messages regardless but now she does the same thing she does on yours (just turns off). Since I made the above setting change on my phone, Siri on HomePod is reading unread text messages no problem. This seems to be the only fix, hopefully Apple patches it in the next iOS 14 update.

OK thanks. I'll give that a try. I had tried everything you had previously. What I have noticed is that if your phone is unlocked the HomePod will read your messages. As soon as the phone is locked, she won't read them. I have my messages notification to only show preview when unlocked. I'll change to always and see if that works. Not ideal as anyone can read your messages. Hopefully will get resolved when os 14 comes out for the HomePod. Thanks for replying.
