Apple ID Password won’t work

I’ve had the same Apple ID password for years. For some reason, after installing iOS 14 my Apple ID password won’t work. I tried to download an app from the App Store and needed to enter my password and it kept saying it couldn’t connect to the Apple server. But I definitely had working wifi. Has this happened to anyone else? How do I fix this?

wait, I've been having this exact same problem all morning. iTunes connects and logs me in and plays music just fine from my phone or from the browser webpage. But the desktop iTunes app on my desktop and laptop can't make a secure connection to the iTunes store despite being perfectly connected to my internet. What did you do to fix this?

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Also try the Safe Mode.

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply.        Pastebin.

App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services - If you can't connect

Some other things you can try. Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try a forced restart.

Reset Device.

If necessary

Hard reset.

Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.

Restore to Factory setting.

Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
