Bought Apple Watch at pawn shop

Okay so I recently bought a Apple Watch series 3 from the pawn shop

the previous owner sold the watch

and later reported the watch stolen so the watch is now locked

i hace notice a lot of different forums with this problem with owners spellings phones or watch at pawn shop and turning around and reporting it stolen. Now they got quick money and a new watch that’s not right at all. If we have proof of purchase we should be able to get the help with removing the previous owners iCloud

Once the watch is locked no one but the person that locked it can unlock it not even Apple. You need to talk to the pawnshop about getting your money back They sold you a stolen watch. Then they can go to the Police and report who sold it to them as selling a stolen item. There is a lot of paperwork involved when someone pawns or sells something in a pawn shop just for this reason. If they won't give you your money back go to the Police in the district where the Pawn Shop is. They will be interested when a pawn shop is selling stolen merchandise and not willing to help you.

How did you find out it was the previous owner that sold the watch and then reported it stolen?
