when certain APP updated, how to update APPs manually

sometimes after iOS upgrade some APPs work not 100% correctly, this brings users to a point: how to check at which date certain APP has been updated or how to update certain APP manually. I remember such functionality was available on iOS ~v.10 or earlier, would be perfect to have such functionality back!
