Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which Mac model you have, download High Sierra, Mojave, or Catalina.

Mojave requires it to be a 2012 or newer Mac model, or a 2010 desktop Mac Pro.

Catalina requires it to be a 2012 or newer Mac model(2013 for desktop Mac Pros).
