airdropped files not showing up on iPad

I'm currently using iPad Pro. It's been a while since I used airdrop to transfer documents. However, recently, when I airdrop a file from macbook to iPad, it shows up that it is sent and the alert sound when you airdrop is also made but I can't find the file on my iPad. Before, iPad used to show a pop-up to select an application to open the airdropped file; now, nothing happens on my iPad. Can anyone help me about this issue?

Hello wlwwll,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that when you AirDrop a file from your MacBook to your iPad Pro you are not receiving any. notification on your iPad Pro. This is because you are using the same Apple ID on both devices. Check your Files app for your documents and the Photos app for any photos you have transferred from your Mac to your iPad.

"If you AirDrop something to yourself, like a photo from your iPhone to your Mac, you won't see an option to Accept or Decline — it'll automatically get sent to your device. Just make sure that both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID."

Best Regards.

Thank you so much for the reply!

Before using iPad Pro, I used the 6th generation iPad with the same Apple ID and when I used airdrop for pdfs or other documents, it always worked so I didn't know the issue was due to using the same Apple ID.

Since I'm using the same ID I can access the files through the Files app so I guess the problem is solved :)

Thanks again.
