Adding external USB hub to iMac circa 2013.

I have an iMac circa 2013. Want to add an external USB hub. Am I correct that I can use thunderbolt port to do this? If so - technical details as to cable and recommended USB hub please.

Suggested source for these items if possible.

Rudegar is spot on. Just get a self-powered USB 3.0 hub and plug it into one of your 2013 iMac’s USB 3.0 ports.
