Trying to use Find My. My iPad doesn’t show as one of my devices.

Are you using the same Apple ID on the iPad? Have you tried signing out of Settings/Your Name and back in? See the Add a device section in the article below.

Apple ID device list -Check to see where you‘re signed in.
