Where is the screen mirroring button on an iPhone XR 14.0.1?
I am trying to mirror my iPhone XR and saw the instructions to tap the button "Screen Mirroring", however I can't find the "Screen Mirroring" button.

That got me to Screen Mirroring. However, I only get the spinning ball when I connect the phone to the TV with an adapter and a HDMI cable. I have tried two phone XR's and two different TV's and cables. I regularly use the same cable and connections on one of the TV's to do screen mirroring with a MBP without problems. Is a faulty adapter the problem or are there any other things I can try?
I guess you don’t know how to open the Control Center. Drag down from the top right corner of the screen.
You went to the settings for customizing the Control Center; you didn’t open the Control Center.
Here is the Control Center screen:
Greetings Bob1177,
We understand that you are wanting to use AirPlay with your iPhone, and we'd like to help. Begin by following the guidance found here:
Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror your device’s screen
Take care.
Screen mirroring and Airplay use Wi-Fi, not an HDMI cable. It requires either an Apple TV or a smart TV that supports screen mirroring. See—>Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror your device’s screen - Apple Support
In "Settings>Control Center" I only find "Access Within Apps" and "Customize Controls". In "Settings>Control Center>Customize Controls" I find "Screen Recording" but not "Screen Mirroring".

It’s in the Control Center.
You are right, I hadn't discovered the Control Center. Thanks for the help.
I mirror my MBP on my TV frequently with an adapter and a HDMI cable. Shouldn't it work with IOS with a Lightening adapter?
No, iOS uses Wi-Fi to mirror.
Thanks!!
