Macbook air + HP Laser 107w printer

I am about to return this printer to Amazon, but thought I'd ask: has anyone managed to connect wirelessly (or bu USB for that matter)? I have Catalina 10.15.7.

Hi,

No experience with this exact printer model, merely a few comments (that may or may not be of any help to you).

The available information about the HP Laser 107w appears to be a bit confusing.

The User Guide indicates that Mac is not supported (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06287229#G4.4668382). In the printer specifications, there is no specific indication about Mac support, but Apple AirPrint is mentioned under mobile printing (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laser-100-printer-series/24494339/model/24494342/document/c06271567). In an article about compatible mobile printing solutions (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laser-100-printer-series/24494339/model/24494342/document/c03722645), there is a reference to Apple AirPrint under "Smartphone & Tablet Built-in Printing Solutions" for the Laser 107w.

HP Laser 107w is in the list over AirPrint-enabled printers in About AirPrint - Apple Support. According to the article Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support, "If your printer is AirPrint-enabled, it’s compatible with macOS."

You may also want to take a look at a topic (HP Laser 107w for MAC OS Catalina) in the HP Community -> Printers -> Print Drivers, about wireless Mac use (but with network setup via another device).

Hello Alexandra,

If you decide not to return the printer yet, there is always the possibility that someone else here could have ideas or a solution. If so, additional information about the wanted network connection/setup may help. Already available Wi-Fi router? Has WPS been tested? Wi-Fi direct? Access to an iOS device? A Windows PC?

Anyway, good luck!

Regards,

Jan
