How can I transfer Mac OS data/files from one Sandisk ssd to a another sandisk ssd? I can’t have both opened at the same time using one MacBook Pro.

if not enough USB ports, copy the drive to a Disk Image, then copy or restore the image to the other drive:

why can't you have both open at once? No more USB ports, or no more Finder windows?
