My iPhone will not back up when I plug in for a power source

Hi Mrbrownmm100,


To backup to iCloud,


  1. Ensure that your device is connected to a wifi network
  2. Go to Settings -> Your name and tap iCloud
  3. Tap iCloud Backup
  4. Tap backup now


Attached is an Apple Support Article detailing how to do it with graphics and other ways that you can backup your device as well.
