Note disappears from icloud on all devices after opening Notes on macbook

Notes for a project, taken on the ipad notes app, disappeared after opening the notes app on my macbook. The syncing of my macbook's notes app disappeared the crucial note. Something like this happened to me years ago with Apple Notes, which is why I stopped using the app, but needed it recently for convenience to handwrite some notes.

Can this note be recovered? It is not in the "recently deleted" folder, it's simply gone as if it had never existed :(

Sounds like it may be irrevocably gone, but you can try checking at www.icloud.com at the Notes app.
