I have no 'Software Update' icon

I am trying to update (not upgrade) a 2011 iMac that has not been used in several years and my System Preferences folder does not have a Software Update icon. How do I enable it or find a way to update the system software?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Updates for older iMac's running macOS 10.13 High Sierra or earlier are done thru the App Store.
