iMac with black screen

I have an older iMac 21.5” running macOS 10.13.6 that boots up but the screen is black. I also have it connected to my tv via hdmi but no image there as well. I can hear it boot up and know its on as well as confirm its connected to the internet by looking at my iCloud account. Any suggestions or solutions? Thank you

Since I also have it connected to my tv as either a mirrored or second monitor, also with no image, is it safe to assume its the GPU? This is what I suspected anyway but wondering if it’s worth repairing or just buy a new Mac? I feel I already know the answer since the imac is now about 10 years old and the OS can’t be upgraded anyway.
