How can I make Siri respond to “hey Siri”?

Since around the time of the last iOS update, my iPhone isn’t responding to hey Siri. I have followed all of the steps listed to fix the problem and nothing works. Can someone tell me what’s going on?

iPhone 6s, iOS 11

Follow the Steps One after the other in sequence...

  1. Settings > Siri & Search > Listen for "Hey Siri" [Disable]
  2. Settings > Siri & Search > Press Home for Siri [Disable]
  3. Next
  4. Settings > Siri & Search > Press Home for Siri [Enable]
  5. Settings > Siri & Search > Listen for "Hey Siri" [Enable]

Thank you for answering, but I tried that repeatedly and it doesn’t help. Sometimes after I follow those steps you provided, it will respond once and then it stops again. Other times, it does doesn’t work at all. I never had this problem prior to the latest update, but it’s really frustrating because in my line of work I often have my hands too full to reach my phone, so I’ve come to rely on a voice activated Siri.
