Could not activate iPad

Am trying to use a iPad2 after quite a long time of inactivity.

I am asked to activate the iPad, which it attempts for some time before message "Your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting again later etc...."


I have been trying for a few days without success. Any ideas how I can get activated?
