does the location of the person who is sharing their location with you update everytime they use their phone?
my question is if a person doesn’t use their phone, then the location doesn’t update right? but as soon as they open it then it does?

As long as the individuals device is powered up and connected to WiFi or cellular data network, then it will update the location whenever you open the Find my App/ Find My friends App.
