There was quite some discussion lately about that topic and possible solutions.

As far as I remember, this was the solution. The Apple Store only shows the most recent version of Logic. However, if you current operating system doesn't work with the version you have to "convince" the App Store to offer you the version appropriate for you macOS. One solution was to delete (remove) the Logic App from the Applications folder (restart), and then go to the App Store (signed-in with your Apple ID used to purchase your Logic app). Now, the App Store should show the Logic version for you macOS.

If that doesn't work, try to find the thread on this forum because there were a few variations.

Hope that helps,

peace, folks!

I have this problem as well...and it goes a little something like this:

currently running LPX 10.4.8 (on 2018 Mini w/ Mojave 10.14.6).

didn't rush to upgrade to 10.5 when it released because a) I almost NEVER install the new thing right away and b) I was mid-project (also an almost never no no kind of deal)!

so now, I'm looking to update to the latest version of LPX my machine + macOS combo can run, but I am only offered the upgrade to LPX 10.6. BUT I can't run 10.6 without installing Catalina... and I'm NOT interested in installing Catalina because of fear that some of my crucial audio interface devices may be rendered inoperable.

so, I just need to get 10.5.1. but it's seemingly impossible to download a previous update version from the App Store (which is giving me the "we couldn't complete your purchase...cancelled" error", but that's another thread). kinda frustrating that I can download any of the older of the Supplemental Updates (none of which stop the crashes on waking from sleep, but that too is for another thread), but I can't find an update to 10.5.1!

anyone have any advice? thanks in advance!

thank you for this, Edgar...I appreciate you taking the time!!

I tried this solution, even did some digging around on the interwebs to find more detail and unfortunately couldn't find a solve..

what ended up working for me was this:

I logged into my Apple ID on my wife's machine and installed LPX on her machine from my account about a month or so ago. my hope was that although she is running Catalina on her machine that she had NOT upgraded to LPX 10.6 yet. she hadn't (WHEW)!

so, I created a .dmg from the .app file, copied it to my machine, installed it and VOILA...currently running 10.5.1 on both machines (which makes her sending me sessions to mix/master so much easier now).

I wish Apple had a more official process in place (like simply providing legacy installers, or more accurate version tracking between Apple ID accounts and the App Store), but I found a solution and I'm happy with it!

thanks again!
