Moving date/time stamp on photos

On a new MacBook Pro, with all software up to date, how do I move the date/time stamp so I can crop my photos. I am doing this in iMovie.

What do you mean by date time stamp?

If you mean a date/time embedded in the actual image of your photo by a camera, you can't move it, it is not a separate movable item, it is burned into your image.
