Creation / Modified date on export original image is changed

I am trying to export my photos from my iCloud via the macOS (11.0.1) photos app.

Using the export unmodified original image function results in all my images with EXIF data but the creation and modified date is the date time of the export.

I imagined the export will not touch the images and rather just copies it. Is this unwanted behaviour or a bug?

However, is there any other possibility to export my images on bulk with the correct dates?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.0

The important date in image files is ExifIFD:DateTimeOriginal. File creation & modification dates might be different although I prefer to set them all the same:

exiftool -a -G1 -s -api QuickTimeUTC=1 -time:all -api RequestAll=2 image.jpg

[ExifIFD] DateTimeOriginal : 2020:10:16 21:28:11

[MacOS] FileCreateDate : 2020:10:16 21:28:11+03:00

[System] FileModifyDate : 2020:10:16 21:28:11+03:00
