Accidentally deleted maps. Following the previous answer, I opened App Store, found maps (not imap or google map, the map app that came on original iPhone. I do not see a download symbol, just see an open symbol. I open, the map is useable but does not download, and no icon shows when I want to reopen.....

That means Map is not deleted, but may be restricted using Screen Time Restrictions.
Else it could be in your App Library if you have iOS 14 and above.
