Depends on what exactly you mean by “change”.

As explained in the support document you came from, you can create a new Apple ID, and use that one instead of whichever one you have currently.

If you mean can you change the email address you use as your Apple ID, then yes you can do that too. See: link: Change your Apple ID to use a different email address - Apple Support
