Installer information on the recovery server is damaged

I am trying to reinstall Mac OS to give my computer to my daughter and the above message came up. What do I do?

Try creating a bootable macOS USB installer for High Sierra using these instructions:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201372


Make sure to perform a clean install by first erasing the whole physical drive as GUID partition and MacOS Extended (Journaled) while booted from the macOS USB installer:

https://support.apple.com/guide/disk-utility/erase-and-reformat-a-storage-device-dskutl14079/mac


Depending on the exact model of your Mac it may be possible to upgrade to a later version than macOS 10.13 if you have a 2012 or later model. If you provide us with the exact model of this Mac, then we can tell you the latest supported OS for this Mac. You can get the exact model by clicking the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac".
