activation lock

i recently bought a used ipad.. however it is activation locked and i do not have contact with the original owner to have it taken off his/her icloud. i was told that apple support would be able to help

They won't; it's an anti-theft measure. If applicable, ask the people running the site or store you bought it through for a refund.
