Recycle SE that won't turn on

I have an iphone SE that won't turn on. I've replaced it, but would like to get rid of the old one to be recycled for parts. I live 2+ hours from the nearest Apple store. What can I do with it?

Hello,

Hmm, I can't help with recycling, but old phones can have a surprisingly useful second life. They can be used for internet-only devices or used as a backup in case your current phone has an issue.

So, maybe it can be resurrected:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on or is frozen

If it won't charge, check the charing port for lint or other debris and see this:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t charge

Good luck.
