Disabled iPhone

My dad has brain cancer and has accidentally locked his iPhone 8 Plus by mistyping the passcode too many times. He does not have his photos backed-up and we do not want to lose them as they go back years and he will soon pass. Those pictures are precious to us. I am his son whom he is living with and I know the passcode. I just need opportunity to enter it. What can I do? There has to be another way other than resetting the passcode and losing all his photos. Please help!

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14

sorry, I know this isn't what you want to hear..

but as far as I know, there is not another way to access the device or recover content once the phone has been disabled.
