iCloud storage backup

My backup is taking a very long time. I have deleted pictures and text messages and it still shows I need 7 hours to complete backup. Is that normal?? Is there something else I can do to help speed up the process??

See - If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support.
