No Airplay icon to connect to tv

Installed Big Sur onto MacBook Air and can not find Airplay icon to allow mirror to home tv?

A few things to double check and perform below:


  1. Reset SMC by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset SMC. If that does not solve things then-
  2. Reset NVRAM/PRAM by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset NVRAM/PRAM. If that does not solve things then-
  3. Reboot your Apple TV by unplugging it at the electrical Power and Plugging it back again after 10 seconds.
  4. Ensure that your Mac and your Apple TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi Network,
  5. Finally see the image below where you will see how to get to Screen Mirroring from Big Sur's Menu Bar (Top).
