Macbook Pro cracked bottom of screen

So somehow, something must have gotten stuck in between the crease of my macbook pro and cracked the display at the bottom (shown in pic). For reference I bought this new macbook only a few months ago. I was very upset and how easy it clearly was for that part to break and wish there was an easy fix. But I wasn’t too worried about it since it was just a cosmetic thing and was very minor and I’m not even sure what caused it. So after I saw the crack I was on the computer, turned it off and when I went to go back on it later, the screen would no longer turn on. So I restarted it and the screen lights up when it turns on and makes the noise (that shows it turning on) but the screen is all black. It won’t do anything else now. I would assume the crack somehow caused it but everything was working perfectly fine before, not even a tiny part of the screen was affected when I was using it. I don’t have apple care what do I do? I’m angry with apple and hope they will cover it and just give me a refund or a new one but I’m doubting the quality of these laptops.
