Imac will not update

I cannot update iMac try update and states no updates found. I refuse to buy a new computer. My post has text.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and if your iMac is a late 2009 or newer model, download High Sierra, Catalina, or Big Sur through the links provided. If not, it's incapable of a newer OS.
