What do you mean “work with”?
Apple TV itself uses tvOS, which is currently at version 14.3.
Macs running macOS Sierra 10.12.6 can be used in combination with Apple TV (2nd generation or later), including Apple TV HD. You can use AirPlay, AirPlay Screen Mirroring, Home Sharing. Also some third party software solutions can be used to combine both (Plex, MrMC, Infuse, VLC, etc.).
