Upgrading MacBook

I need to update my old MacBook which has got some editing software on that came preinstalled on the Mac when I got it. Is there any way to get that software on my new Mac through some sort of back up / profile migrate?

I’ll be using the same Apple ID on the new machine. So I’m hoping it’s possible.

You do not say what exact Mac /model /year /size /retina /TouchBar is this

or what exact macOS you are currently running..upgrade to what..

non the less—The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749

If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.

Keep in mind—With the release of macOS 10.15 Catalina, applications will have to be 64-bit. App developers will issue updated apps if they want their apps to work on this newest macOS upgrade
