What if you have an iPad Air? My update says 12.5.1 and that it's up to date.

What if you have an iPad Air? My software update says 12.5.1 and that it's up to date. What about the notice that it should be 14.4. My iPhone is updated to 14.4.

12.5.1 is the most current iOS version of a first generation iPad Air. It cannot be updated beyond that.


12.5.1 was released a couple of weeks ago, for devices incapable of running iOS 13 or later and has the most recent fixes required for it.
