iMac camera doesn't work

My imac camera doesn't work in Zoom, Facetime, etc. Yes I've allowed zoom to use the camera in Prefs.

I've upgraded to Big Sur, hoping it was a Mojave problem. Still no camera.

If a friend logs in as a different user, the camera works just fine. So not a hardware issue.

Suggestions for how to fix??

Hi Laura Zusters,

Have you tried the following:

  1. Restart the iMac?
  2. Try in Safe Mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support?
  3. Going through this article: If your built-in camera isn’t working on your Mac - Apple Support?
  4. And resetting the SMC: How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support?

Let us know!

Cheers,

Jack
