Old version of Adobe CS6. I am no longer able to use this. Is it true I need to pay more again to use this? I have a Mac Book Pro. I just want to use my old version. don't need any thing else.

Adobe has gone to paying for a subscription. Did you recently update your MacBook Pro? The newer devices are 64bit architecture and the older software is 32bit so it won't work.

Yes, you need Adobe CC to run on 10.15 Catalina or newer. The photography bundle that includes LR is the most cost effective.
