Should I transfer all the applications from my older Mac

I got a new Mac and am required to transfer files and applications from the older Mac. Now should I transfer everything or leave out applications? Will my new Mac have the application already?

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749

If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.

I have never had an issue moving everything.

How do you intend to migrate your data? You have not explained. The best way is to use a Time Machine backup to restore your old Mac in its entirety. This naturally will include all the Apple software. You don't have to exclude anything from the migration just because it's already on the new Mac.

Use your Time Machine backups to restore your entire system to your new Mac. Afterwards there no doubt will be further software and OS updates to apply.
