Upgrading the SSD in a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

HI,

i have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) (non touch bar)

im about to order a bigger ssd and adaptor


my question is once iv installed the new ssd can i then plug my external HDD with my time machine back up and restore it on the new ssd

Hi iv removed the back and the SSD can be replaced as long as i get an adaptor

The MacBook Pro SSD'S (from 2016 or later) are non-upgradable. Unless you know how to solder, but even then Apple uses their own type of SSD which is ludicrously expensive. The only "easy" way is a whole logic board replacement, but even that will be expensive. It's such a shame. Bring back user upgradability Apple!
