The best way to move your content is using Time Machine restore: Restore your Mac from a backup - Apple Support.

If you do not use Time Machine, you can use Migration Assistant: Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support.

You can also use an external storage device to Drag and Drop content to the new Mac.
